With this in mind we have destroyed all of our baby cribs that have a drop down rail well before the Government made any determinations on safety. On December 15, 2010 the Consumer Product Safety Commission has reported there is no way to make these baby cribs safe. This was a direct result of the over 30 deaths in the past decade that can be directly attributed to a drop down rail baby crib.
One and a half years ago there were hints of warning these baby cribs may not be safe, at that time Baby Borrow destroyed the few side drop rail baby cribs we owned and have not gotten any new ones. We knew of this safety hazard years ago, well in advance of the CPSC outlawing their use, and took immediate action to safeguard your children. We purchased hundreds of non-drop side baby cribs to keep our children safe.
Baby Borrow will not rent an unsafe baby crib or anything that could potentially harm someone, especially a child. Some rental agencies may tell you they are safe with an add-on kit, we feel this is just not true. The CPSC ruled unanimously to ban these baby cribs including new and used resale baby cribs.
For your peace of mind, all of our equipment is safety checked, cleaned and sanitized prior to delivery. All of our cribs come with bumpers and sheets, which are clean, then wrapped in plastic. Our stroller pads are clean and changed after each rental. All of our car seats are up to date and have not expired. When renting a car seat, make sure to check the expiration date as it is illegal to put a child in an expired car seat. We take care to keep all of our products up to date, not just the car seats. Our cribs, car seats, strollers, high chairs, beds the list just goes on and on, are all checked for safety to ensure your child's well being.
